Strikeforce

One of the games conspicuously absent from this year’s E3 was Insomniac Games’ upcoming Overstrike. The four-player co-op shooter was announced at last year’s event under the EA Partners program, but has been hiding in the shadows ever since.

Speaking with CVG, EA Labels gaffer Frank Gibeau explained that the delay was due to Insomniac taking additional time to ensure it nailed the title's gameplay ahead of a potential summer re-reveal.

He said:

We're very excited about Overstrike. It's a new IP and we want to make it the right game, so they're taking some extra time to nail the gameplay and the quality. It felt like we would stand out better later in the summer once we've hit some key milestones and we're able to show off more.

Overstrike will mark developer Insomniac Games’ first foray into multiplatform development. The studio is also working on Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault for PS3.
