And that same mentality is evident in the build-up to LittleBigPlanet 2. Media Molecule's studio co-founder, Mark Healey, has told NowGamer that the studio has a "secret dream" for user generated content to be so good that it gets reviewed by traditional gaming websites. Does it get much more ambitious than that?
"A little secret dream weve got is that someone will make something in LittleBigPlanet 2 thats so good that it actually gets reviewed on a website."
"That would be really cool. Or even better, something wins an award thats made with LBP 2. That would be fantastic."
Healey reckons that the new tools in LBP2 should give creators more power to realise their imaginations: "Some people actually managed to make quite different kinds of gameplay experience by using various cheats and smoke and mirror techniques. If they could do that with the first game what they could do with this one I cant wait to see. Its going to be quite phenomenal."
We're already toying with the idea of bringing LittleBigPlanet 2 content closer to the fore-front of PushSquare, so this may well be the direction we end up taking. We'll see. Either way, Media Molecule's enthusiasm and ambition continues to inspire us.
