With the Playstation 3 currently the most expensive console on the market, both the recession and American misconception have left Sony in the dust. It's a catch-22 for Sony at this moment: significant pricedrops might re-establish market share but cripple Sony financially, whereas no pricedrop could see hardware sales disintegrate but allow Sony to get into a profitable position.
It's something that must keep Sony-execs up all night.
