It's spooky season (and almost holiday season!) which means that there are lots of fantastic games heading our way over the next couple of months. Did someone say Spider-Man?

As always, we've been busy putting together a list of some particularly noteworthy physical releases headed to both PlayStation 5 and PS4 over the next few weeks, as well as a larger selection of games that could well be worth checking out. Assassin's Creed Mirage - 5th October

Assassin's Creed Mirage sneaks onto PS5 and PS4 on 5th October.

Described as a "smaller scale, back to basics" take on the franchise, Mirage brings back the series' trademark parkour and stealth gameplay and is set in 9th century Baghdad. You play as Basim, a young street thief seeking answers and uncovering the mysteries of the past as you fight to secure your future. You can grab a copy below.

Sonic Superstars - 17th October

On 17th October, everyone's favourite blue blur speeds onto PS5 and PS4 in Sonic Superstars.

This new platformer will have players setting off on an all-new 2D adventure through the mystical Northstar Islands as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy. All-new Emerald powers are also in play, allowing you to move and attack in "dynamic new ways". Early impressions have been positive, with features like a series-first co-op campaign seeming to be welcome additions to the regular formula. You can treat yourself to a copy below.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 - 20th October

Here it is. The big one. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 lands on PS5 on 20th October.

Peter Parker and Miles Morales both return for an all-new adventure in the critically acclaimed series, once again travelling across New York and coming up against new stories, new powers, and iconic villain, Venom. You'll be able to quickly swap between each Spider-Man in the game, and New York is said to be bigger than ever before, featuring two new boroughs – Brooklyn and Queens.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 - 24th October

This collection of Metal Gear Solid titles gives fans the chance to replay (or experience for the first time) some of the series' earliest adventures.

The Volume 1 line-up features the original titles and the beginning of the series, including the original versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid (which also includes VR Missions/Special Missions), and the HD Collection versions of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. What's not to like?

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - 10th November

The latest in Activition's rebooted Modern Warfare series, Modern Warfare 3 returns to PS5 and PS4 on 10th November.

With an all-new campaign, modernised versions of classic Multiplayer maps and an open-world PvE Zombies experience, this is a direct sequel to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II in which Captain Price and Task Force 141 face off against ultranationalist war criminal Vladimir Makarov.

Expect to find the 16 multiplayer maps that launched with Modern Warfare 2 in 2009 return with upgraded graphics, new modes and innovative gameplay features, as well as "the largest Zombies map yet". Pre-orders are available now:
