So, the Knack 2 demo released yesterday. Did anyone else download it? Played it through on normal and enjoyed the combat and the ability to change size at the click of a button. I don't think the level design was all that inspired, so I hope it was just a bad level choice for the demo. Anyone manage to make it through the hardest difficulty?

I haven't downloaded the demo, but I'm for sure getting it.

I've had the original in my backlog for years & I've only just got to it. I don't get the hate- 54 metacritic, really?! I'm at chapter 4 & I love it! Really nice art style & I find it to be a lot of fun.
That's enough to get me to buy Knack 2.

I think the reason people disliked it was due to the characters and the traditional platforming elements. Without trying to big the game up above its station, the combat is sublime. It's like a cross between a puzzler and a brawler as it made sense to target certain enemies first and use certain moves in certain situations...all in the correct order. On lower difficulties, it isn't quite like this. On higher difficulties, it is a must to look at the situation and react appropriately.

@KratosMD It's really fun & fairly challenging as well. Itching to get back to it after work.
Hope it's not too long. Ideally I'll have it done by the time Knack 2 is out.

Agree with a lot of comments above the game received a strong amount of hate thats the reason why I avoided the original Knack. Then I bit the bullet last week and bought it in the sale. I really love the game and looks suprisngly good for a 2013 game. Played the demo last night of Knack 2 really good put my pre-order in.

Knack isn't bad, but I got bored about half way through. It just needed longer in the oven.

Knack 2 looks good, gunna try the demo later.

It puzzled me why many people hated Knack for it's archaic platforming yet praised Crash Bandicoot. It surely must be a nostalgia thing.

With Knack 2 out tomorrow, it would be interesting to see who got in Day 1. I accidently tried to go in Day -1. The guy at GAME didn't see a Knack enquiry coming.

I actually tried picking up a copy before work today, only to find out the game isn't out till tomorrow here in the UK. Don't know why I thought the game was out today.

@Shellcore did they quote you a price? RRP is £29.99, but Argos have it for £24.99. GAME & Argos are within walking distance for me, but I like picking up GAME reward points...

@Fight_Teza_Fight I didn't ask. But, if its more than RRP, I will head to Argos (thanks for the tip). I have a gift card for GAME so will use and get the points this time.

I'm at chapter 6 and it's legitimately a great game so far.
It takes a little while to get good, but once you have access to the new combat mechanics, it's a ton of fun.

My biggest issue with Knack 2 is that it doubles down on its target audience- kids.
The original was actually pretty difficult, but this time around with regenerating health it's very difficult to fall in combat. There's also an overwhelming reliance on QTE which takes me out of the game.

I think the biggest problem with Knack is Knack itself. The game is stunning. Legitimately feels like I'm playing a cartoon. I really like the 'little Knack' platforming, but there's a disconnect whenever he gets big. The cocky attitude doesn't really fit. He's straight up big, mean and nasty at times. Medium sized (human height) Knack also feels out of place- especially in the cut scenes.

Having said that, the game itself is pretty great. Enemy design is varied, as is the combat. Puzzles are pretty well thought out and the art direction is fantastic.

@Fight_Teza_Fight Agreed on all points. I have found the combat easier this time around. The dialogue is absolutely awful. However, I like the upgrade system, the increased platforming and the new move set. Up to Chapter 9 and still binge playing it. It's a strange one. I have lots of issues with the game, but will have no problem booting it up for a second run through as soon as I'm done with the first. The loot aspect is rewarding and addictive!

@Shellcore It's funny really. A game this flawed, but I can't stop playing it. Maybe its because it's not a typical game that I would play on my PS4. So it's kind of refreshing.

I haven't really invested in the skill tree yet.
I was certain there would be a trophy for hoarding points, so I saved up my points (11). No such thing, but I didn't really need an upgrade to tackle anything in the game yet either.
Think I'll play around with it a little bit later.
