Sony's on-demand music video streaming service is getting an overhaul.

Knowing that its best chance of getting attention is running in the background during those holiday get togethers, Sony's announced a full reboot for the service, including a snappier interface and a bunch of new features.

Music genres will now be divided into Zones, allowing you to tune into specific stations packed with relevant song choices. If you'd prefer VidZone to pick the songs for you, then the service now comes equipped with a playlist generator feature called V-Mix. And if all that wasn't enough, social connectivity is in via Facebook, as is optimised search. So now you can totally find that "industrial house hardcore" band you were looking for.

The update's easy to grab — simply boot up VidZone from the XMB today and it will start downloading.
