Frankly, this gets me really pissed off. I buy Sony's consoles... (PS3 - 5) and the show (19-21) and in the year they decide to add cross platform it winds up being free for Xbox users??? Way to support the user community that invests in your products!!! Great PR move.

@Col_McCafferty You can download anytime as long as you remain active in PS Plus. As long as you did add to your Library you are good to go.

@GoodGame Try using SHUTDOWN PS5 and not using Rest Mode. So far that is the only thing that prevents crashing when I have my external drive connected.

Just spoke with Sony support. There have been many reported issues related to the use of external drives. Going to pull mine and see how it goes for a bit.

@Woogy Tried that after the latest update. Ran good for two days then controller went crazy and machine locked up. Had to pull the plug and reset/rebuild again. Going to give Rest Mode a rest until I hear it is fixed.

@Woogy Seems illogical. Why would turning power off to USB help prevent an issue with external storage connected to USB? Would seem keeping power on would make more sense since the device is not being "ejected". I will give it a shot at some point but frankly I have been just fully shutting down for the time being.

@StonyKL Are you using an external drive? Seems most users reporting rest mode issues have an external drive attached.

@Kieren1234 That is my ONLY question. Rest Mode caused me issues and I don't want to try unless they have addressed the problem.

I give many a shot... but only keep playing a few. There have been MANY that I have had ZERO interest in. But for the cost if I get 3 - 5 games per year I feel like I broke even. If I could get more than 6 I would be really pleased.

@Weebleman Last night I played for a few hours along with downloading a few new items without issue. But I have been shutting down. Hesitant to try "rest mode" since it has become "rebuild" mode on mine...

Oh well. Must be some combo of games or something that caused the issue. Too many are having the issue for it to be hardware... so a firmware fix should address. In the meantime I will just shut down. Boots fast anyway.

@Weebleman WD External (non-ssd). USB 3 My Passport I think. Will get an M2 drive once they are supported.

@Weebleman Good for you! That makes me a bit unhappy though... Was hoping it had to do with the external drive.

I am wondering if those who have not had a crash yet are also NOT using external storage. I have a 2TB external drive with my PS4 games connected and have had one lock up and 3 outright crashes in two days. All with drive repairs the result. Not very stable yet.
