Re: Warriors: Abyss Is a Budget Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors Roguelite, Out Now on PS5, PS4

I bought it last night. I debated it because I still need to finish Origins, but for $25 I figured oh well.

It looked like a Diablo-style game from the trailer, but it is far more Hades-like. Each run has 7 levels then a boss level. There are allies you can bond with that appear after combos for special movies and your ultimate attack. There are stats and progression, and lots of unlock mechanics for characters and abilities. It throws a lot at you in the first hour to figure out all that’s going on, but I think it was fun. I’ll be playing more today.

I own it and it has helped me keep playing in situations where I wouldn’t have been able to. For the price and what it does, it’s been worth it for me.

I’m not sure what else people expect it to do, though. There isn’t any dedicated hardware or storage. It isn’t a standalone device, so I don’t know where else it goes from here. It’s doing what I would expect it to do.

I WOULD like to see a new dedicated handheld from Sony, though. Something with decent power, and devs can make games within those specs to let them release games that are fully playable on PS5 as well as the handheld itself. No need to split or create a new eco system, just a “portable PlayStation” experience.
