Overall, Xbox hasn’t been a profitable endeavor for Microsoft. Seemingly, they are more committed this time around than ever before.
Sony has exclusives and brand loyalty. Microsoft seems to believe the real money is in services and they have a cadre of games too and a damn powerful system.
Buying Bethesda was superficially expensive but really nothing for Microsoft in comparison to what they perceive it will get them. Moreover, more potential exclusives for them and more game pass content.
Microsoft seems to be playing to win. They don’t rely on Xbox for profitability. PlayStation is a very significant revenue and profit center for Sony. They cannot afford to spend with Microsoft or absorb losses like they can.
Let’s let the games speak for themselves. I haven’t been this jazzed about a console period in some time!
