Re: Huge and Highly Praised Crimson Desert PS5 Patch Out Now, Difficulty Options and Better Visuals Included

@Pat_trick I wouldn't call a game that fully crashed PCs on launch "finished forever"
I played the game on PC so even though it was generally much smoother than consoles (and I didn't have a crash myself), calling the game finished is an overstatement.
Glad they're finally catching up so I can go back soon, but this game was 100% undercooked and still needs more time if these comments are right about new issues.

Re: Popular Crimson Desert Mod Has Players Asking Why Character Creation Isn't in the Game by Default

@Titntin I... I have played the game... I even enjoy the gameplay. The intro might be the worst starting hours of a game I've ever played, especially from a cohesive narrative standpoint. But the rest is fun, if still undercooked, a little awkward to control sometimes, lacking QoL, and technically flawed. I haven't played since launch week as I'm waiting for it to be finished before diving back in, even though I didn't have any crashes myself.
"You disagree with me so you must be a liar." Ok. Sure.
You still ignore the source of the issue - to many people, Kliff kinda sucks. Kliff could be anyone. A character creator would fit in well with the game, and with the studio's design. It's in no way incompatible.
The article is not "such biasis". They have differing opinions you are dismissing and attacking, which you literally aren't allowed to do, which is why your comment was removed. All I had ever wanted to do was to get you to try an understand the other perspective, but it's clear you have no interest in doing so. We don't see eye to eye because I disagree - not because of ignorance.
I won't be replying anymore as this will only keep going in circles. Please think on what others have to say about Kliff rather than dismissing it and comparing CD to very different games.

@Titntin I'm going to keep this short and simple so you can retract your assumptions.
I have played the game.
Having a narrative is not the same as being focused on it.
"Narrative action game" is an incredibly broad description.
I am sorry people criticize a game you don't like, but it's not biased nonsense. People have different opinions than yours for very valid reasons.

@Titntin You are painting with an incredibly broad stroke with your definition of a narrative action game, especially with a game like this where the developers themselves admitted to the narrative sucking. The design goals of CD are not at all similar to something like Days Gone. Especially not RE...
The execution and whether* (not weather) the characters are liked absolutely does matter. A neglected characterization of the main protagonist is usually paired with creation.
But more importantly, the focus of the development team matters. The VA for Kliff (poor dude) had to fight to give the character a story, and this is still the result we ended up with. The narrative is not a focal point to the design of CD. This is clear.
This game is a great fit for a custom character. It wouldn't be so demanded if Kliff didn't suck, or if this game was actually focused on a narrative. Neither are currently true.
It's still baffling that you brought up the most beloved character of the RE franchise (again, the games are nothing like CD). I want you to analyze the games you brought up, the way they are designed, the way the characters are written, and the fanbases reception to said characters. Then, perhaps you'd understand why people hate Kliff and would rather create their own protagonist.

Re: Demon's Souls PS5 Remake Lets You Prioritise Visuals or Frame Rate

TheWarPigeon

People need to remember that resolution isn't the only thing that affects framerates. The visual fidelity of the game and game features all take a toll on performance.

A massive part of of a generational leap is new technologies like ray tracing that take of computational power. You can't have both a resolution bump AND a graphics settings bump and expect higher frames. This is a console, not a high-end PC. It isn't all-powerful.
