@OneWingedAngel Maybe for COD or Halo servers. No way is EG servers costing them "millions ". A few thousand? Sure that's possible. No way close to a million for A Clap Hanz game with only about 1000 players max
@PlayStationGamer3919 valid points you bring up. To me the biggest thing is the game seems to be lacking that energy and character that HSG are notorious for. Sure, it looks and feels like a HSG game, but it just feels so bland and dull. Makes me wonder why they decided to deviate from a formula that has always felt right. Surely they could have incorporated a huge open world game without sacrificing all the memorable characters and caddies. Also did not have near enough courses compared to their other games. I think their intentions were to ditch the HSG world altogether and wanted something new and fresh, but all it did is make me miss HSG, leading me to purchasing another PS3, and I immediately purchased Out of Bounds and World Invitational, both tremendous games, and honestly I'd just be fine with playing those if the servers were still live. Another thing that really aggravated me about EG is the way they changed up perfect impact, especially when using backspin on the ball. No linger is your shot guaranteed to go straight if you hit perfect impact, think they said they accounted for sway and it was completely random whether the ball went straight or not. Made hitting a perfect shot pointless as it may veer way off course, many times leading to several extra strokes. What's the point of hitting the perfect shot if you have no idea where it's going? Stupid decision to change this IMHO
@PlayStationGamer3919 Sadly you're 100% correct. Now don't get me wrong, it's still an outstanding game, just not on the same level as any of the HSG games. Seems like they were more focused on making an open world game than an actual golf game. They ditched all the zany and interesting characters for a horrible golfer creator that lacked the ability to make golfers truly unique. Courses just weren't as interesting as past games. Online play kinda sucked, miss the G1-G3 tourneys. I'd rather have an Out of Bounds 2. Lose the golf cart races and fishing and the custom clubs, and go back to what made the series so awesome. Definitely was 3 steps backwards
