Just not interested in BF6. Will be getting BLOPS7 and playing without SBMM will be interesting. If the BF Battle Royale comes out separately and is free to play, I might check it out. If not, I'll pass.
I play on PS5. I'm a CoD guy and I've never cared for Battlefield. Sony's marketing approach won't affect my choice. BLOPS 7 doesn't sound like much of a game changer but the decision to significantly dial back SBMM could be huge. As for Battlefield 6? No thanks, but I might check out future news on their battle royale later this year. If it's separate from B6 and free to play, I might give it a go. If not, I'll pass.
Anyone who thinks they're 'too big to fail' (Activision/COD) is basically asking for a major ass-whooping. They may well get it this year. Point being, NO-ONE/NOTHING is too big to fail.
I'm sure Sony are massively enjoying Playstation's 30th birthday. They've been raking in the money by the shipload this gen. And all at the expense of the people who have been posting all these lovely messages. Am I the only one who is prepared to call them out on here? They have been abusing the trust, loyalty and goodwill of players for too long. I have a lot of fond memories of Playstation's previous generations, but not one from the PS5 era, which is now drawing to a close. Most of the great games this gen have been playable on previous hardware or other platforms. There simply haven't been enough current gen/PS5 exclusives this generation. The PS5 Pro is obscenely expensive, especially when you have to pay a lot more on top for a disc-drive and a stand. Many games also currently run worse on the Pro than on the base console. Sony should never have let the devs get away with such poor Pro patches/optimisation. Playstation's switch of focus to live service games has been an unmitigated disaster. Their flagship live service title Concord pulled in so few players that the game was closed down and refunds had to be issued. Sony's decision to charge full price for the game was a major factor in its failure. Many of their plans for future live service games have now had to be cancelled. Having created PS Stars to reward players for their loyalty, Sony have since nerfed the program, making it a lot less rewarding. They also continue to raise prices for all tiers of the PS Plus subscription without players being able to feel the benefits of any extra investment, while many extra features are still locked behind the more expensive tiers. Sony's greed, laziness and ineptitude have come at the expense of every player who has invested their hard-earned money into the PS5. The hard but simple truth is many would have been a lot better off sticking with their PS4s, myself included. I will definitely be waiting a long time and thinking very hard before even considering investing in a PS6. So celebrate everyone, while Sony continues to fleece you for your hard-earned cash. I for one will certainly not be celebrating.
Question, if you buy the 30th Anniversary 'PSX Style' PS5 Pro, will there be a disc drive available to match the 'retro' look? If not, that'll surely ruin the whole aesthetic and render the 30th Anniversary edition somewhat pointless for players with a physical library? 🤔
Paying by the hour to play games. Sounds wrong because it is. I'll quit gaming completely before I subscribe to this model of greed.
I'd rather spend the £70 on the game when I can afford it than pay goodness knows how much by the hour for games I'll be playing for much longer than 70hrs (online multiplayer).
The quality of games is already suffering. Why give publishers yet another excuse to milk us dry while delivering more shovelware?
No thanks.
One big thing people tend to overlook in these comments is that when it comes to sales even when the game isn't good enough, it's much, much quicker for most CoD players to level-up their weapons on MWIII MP than free-to-play Warzone. That makes a big difference in the minds of the franchise's regular players.
Loved FFVII on PS1 but was one of the few who was bitterly disappointed by Remake Part One. Won't be bothering with any of the others. Actually p****d off that I wasted my money on that game if I'm honest. Nothing else here that interests me. Guess the gaming industry is going the same way as Hollywood. No originality and no great new games. Why oh why did I buy a PS5?!? Seriously beginning to wonder. I might give up on gaming altogether soon if things carry on like this. No hope in this miserable world that is determined to destroy itself and now even gaming isn't even a happy escape anymore. Guess we're all living in the universe's biggest dumpster fire. Sorry for the wake-up call. Actually not sorry, just deal with it, life just makes me feel so bitter towards everything these days. Does anyone feel the same? Why do we bother eh?
I really don't want to sound deluded or out of touch. Can't we all just agree that Hollywood generally doesn't have a f*****g clue what we would like to see these days? They're so scared. It's more than a little pathetic if I'm brutally honest. Maybe my sincere honesty is more than some can take but I'm just trying to express an opinion that I feel many might share.
I feel compelled to mention that J. Cameron always had a flair for visually stunning images in his movies but that doesn't mean that a visually stunning movie is necessarily a great movie. The novelty does wear off you know.
P.S. Three more Avatar movies after this? Sorry but no. Done after the first. Maybe if things were different in Hollywood generally then ok but all the studios are doing the same thing (lack of originality). Please, please, please move on. Don't take our word for it though.
I'm living in reality with everyone else but when you consider that the Marvel Universe has made countless billions without offering any real originality, why should we pretend that these movies are catering for anyone but the lowest common denominator? Too many people are so easily entertained, but where is the food for the soul? Surely I'm not wrong? The 'Avatar' crowd were hoping for something that would blow their minds like the first movie and went to see it (hence the huge box office) but that doesn't mean it was as good. Am I wrong?
To give everyone some perspective, I enjoyed the first Avatar. I'm a pretty big J. Cameron fan so yeah. Plus the 3D back then kinda blew me away (bought a 3D TV lol) but it's been so long even people like me don't care about new Avatar movies or games. Sorry Mr. Cameron. Please move on. You gave us The Terminator, Aliens and T2 (and so much more) but while we understand what you're trying to do with these Avatar movies, we just don't care anymore. Sad but true I know. Guess we're a fickle bunch but heaven help those who ignore their audience.
The lack of genuine originality in games and movies these days no longer shocks me. Maybe they should avoid sequels, prequels, spinoffs, movie-game tie-ins and try something new? They've been doing the same thing for so many years now, it's seriously boring. We live in a no risk society nowadays. Don't say the wrong thing, don't do the wrong thing. Don't make the wrong game, don't make the wrong movie. Just give everyone what they want. But, erm... You can't! Everyone's not going to be satisfied! Be bold! Be original! No more superheros or dead franchises, but err... you know, hmm... Err, new stuff? (Real new stuff) I know, I sound like an old person but actually, even a lot of younger people are starting to feel the same. JOIN ME PEOPLE!!! Lol, only if you want (but you probably don't care)
Don't know about anyone else, but my biggest takeaway from all this is how different Ellie looks. Her childlike appearance in the previous versions adds to her vulnerability and gives great depth in that regard. Making her look like a slightly younger version of the character from part 2 isn't a great move. The bumps in res, lighting, framerate, motion capture amongst other things is great but this is a sticking point for me. Does anyone feel the same on this particular point?
Am I the only one who is seriously disappointed with FFVII Part One? Not trolling but I won't be bothering with the other parts. Much prefer the original, just my opinion. Bored to death of Assassins'Creed. Played the games up until Black Flag and it corrupted my save and I lost all my progress. Didn't bother with AC after that. The past characters and stories are pretty good but the present/near future stuff is pretty weak. If you're into all these games you're all set but if not meh...
