@bighal @McDosy @Art_Vandelay I’m 100% in the same boat. I have my race cockpit setup with a Thrustmaster T-GT II Wheel. Been waiting for this level of VR racing experience since PSVR1 with GT Sport. If GT8 doesn’t come to PSVR 2, I’ll probably be stuck on GT7 for a LONG time.
@Runex2121 Unfortunately, only some people are sensitive to the stutter issue (like myself, but I try to ignore it as best as I can and just enjoy the great Portal hardware). The stutter is also more noticeable on certain 60 fps games than others. 30 fps games tend to hide the issue, because of the low fame rate. In particular, consistent slow panning 60 fps games like NBA 2K highlight this issue the most.
But yeah, for the rest of the population that can’t notice it, they can count themselves lucky that their eyes cannot detect the micro stutter. Digital Foundry mentioned the stutter in a passing comment during their Portal review. However, unfortunately they did not investigate the issue any further.
Perhaps the popularity of the Portal will FINALLY motivate Sony to take seriously the stutter issue that has existed with Remote Play for years and now also affects the Portal (which uses the same Remote Play streaming protocol).
Will this update fix the current known stutter issue with Remote Play streaming from the PS5 to the Portal? (not Wifi/network related, as described in the following Reddit) I guess we can only dream…
