But people do buy creative games. R&C: Rift Apart sold more than 4 million copies, while Sunset Overdrive sold close to 2 million and one of the platform it was available on had the same popularity as the black plague.
I’m aware a single Spider-Man entry sold many times that total, but is it really that terrible to expect other games besides the Marvel universe?
With Wolverine done, can we please have something more creative like Sunset Overdrive was from Insomniac? Or are they now forever stuck in the Marvel sweat factory.
I was genuinely looking and counting if Kojima San had 6 finger hands or something of the ilk that usually draws ridicule from the AI antagonistic crowd. This (ai) production was quite enjoyable 😁.
The next few months are going to be savage in PS land. First is Bungie, then inevitably Haven will follow suit too. Godspeed to all that will be affected.
Looks like Sony's plans to further monetise its current customers are now in full motion.
I'm really not looking forward to se how far they will take it.
Well it's not about everyone having to play everything. It was an observation on my part that I was expecting someone heavily involved with games would have played a DA game. Don't know why, but I did.
specially since the entire dragon age franchise is ass
And that's the great thing about opinions. They are subjective and not all deserving of the same respect. Peace.
It's quite the admission for someone in your profession to have not played a single Dragon Age game. And I'm not thinking about DA2 when the superlative DA Origins exists.
When year after year, after year your biggest money makers are live service games and mtx, wanting in on the pie is not stupid. The approach might be questionable, the underlying drive not so much.
Looks like the Gabe Cube and project Helix seriously spooked Sony 😅😅. Let’s see where their studios whose output don't sells gangbusters like Housemarque end up, with a $70+ milion budget and modest sales. A topic to be revisited later.
Another take could be that PS fans don't have to like and buy everything Sony releases, and especially not at any price.
At £50 Saros could have pushed more sales, alas we are where we are.
If Sony are unhappy with the sale numbers they can always throw Housemarque into the Marvel dungeons with Insomniac. That's sales success pretty much guaranteed😅.
Just recently traded in my vanilla PS4 for the Pro version, which I'm very happy with. This drop is a bit worrying, but I hope to get a good few years of gaming out the PS4Pro, before contemplating another PS console. Same with the Scorpio, which I plan to buy.

Re: Apr 2026 USA Sales: Unremarkable Start for Saros on PS5, as Circana Adds Digital Projections
A PC port would would have probably pushed Saros into "just below remarkable" territory 😉.

“ Tough crowd”
Maybe the “crowd” is not ready to accept the install base hyper-monetising plan Sony gleefully announced a while back🤷.

PS: Wander if it will outsell Saros 😉.
