@SuntannedDuck2 Ace Combat 3 was mainly with original planes and was the worst seller of the franchise. One alternative is to go the Project Wingman route and have aircrafts "inspired" by real planes but not use the real names.
Anyway, bought the preorder for the deluxe edition of AC8 and looking forward for the release. Got the platinum for Ace Combat 5 and will try to get for Zero too. At least will not buy AC8 4 times like AC7 (PS4, XBOX1, Switch, and got an used european collector's edition).
@SuntannedDuck2 The main problem in this case is the intellectual property of the planes in the game. The licensing for the planes has expired long ago, which has prevented Bamco from selling new versions of the games, and some are terrible to renegotiate (like the Panavia Tornado).
That's why on the preorders for the Ace Combat 7, the Xbox one gave a free digital copy of Ace Combat 6 from Xbox 360 and the Playstation 4 gave the digital copy of Ace Combat 5 from Playstation 2. They can't get the rights to sell those, but they can give then away. They never made then available again after that.
