I think you've entirely missed the point here mate. It had nothing to do with people expecting too much or 'AAA' games. The issue is the painful stupidity of PS plus releasing 2 games and making them BOTH simulator games in the same month (a niche market at the best of times).
If they released these 2 games over 2 months, giving another game of a different genre each time to cater for a wider range of players, then I doubt people would be that bothered... But as it is, they've wasted this month for many players.
It doesn't help that these games are hardly what consoles were designed for. If I wanted to play simulators I'd play them on my phone/tablet/laptop...
