@SlykDrako That was very understandable and You might be right about Me being a bot, lol, its funny that right before all this happened My computer bonked out and I cant do anything with it but get on basic internet, I have been trying for a week to figure out why My programs wont boot up and what is going on with it, I will be taking it to the repair guys.

If I don't pay My fee's for PSN I get shut out..so they know how to shut You off.

What I don't understand is Why they can't track where the attack is coming from? Most servers are able to track Your web address and domain. When they start an attack like this, No one else is able to get online so Why can they not isolate the attackers and track them down or shut them out?

From what I have read online and understand...and I could be wrong..a massive attack like Sony just underwent from a DDOS attack can cause major damage to the Network System to the point of needing to repair it almost from the ground up...The people responsible for this attack needs to be tracked down somehow and dealt with in a major way before they extend these kind of attacks beyond just our FUN..and into major things like our MONEY...That worries Me.

I Agree with Bad-MuthaAdebisi...Sony needs to find a better way to run its Business...I was already annoyed at how confusing there set up on Your account and wallet page and all that works anyway...It could be much easier and more seemless..Its a little chaotic. I think they need to go back to the drawing board and fix some real issues. Meanwhile the only thing I have been playing is Minecraft in single mode..lol....I found a lot of Daimonds so far..not much else to do...lol

@get2sammyb Yes =, that worked SB, Single player games will work if You take the console offline, even if downloaded from PSN.

Im not sure why the single player apps are not working either, I tried loading minecraft to play offline and it wont load. It is a game purchased off the website and not on disc so maybe that has something to do with it. You would think that Sony could find a way to track where all this traffic is coming from since no one else, the real gamers, are online..lol

This is just to lighten things up then I think I am done commenting on this thread..I will be waiting like everyone else for the Network to get back online, I Imagine there will be a weeks worth of glitches to deal with after that also. Maybe they could give all active Members a Trophy that says " I survived the Shut Down of Christmas2014"..lol

I disagree with the idea that gaming is going no where, its been around for a long while now, and look at FB, I hate FB games bc they are heavily relied on needing friends to play and are very simple in structure, but the fact that there are so many and growing, shows that the idea of gaming is a big market and sooner or later there will be more competitors . The Makers of the large console games such as Sony and MS might be not going anywhere, not improving things and actually are making things more complicated, but there will always be a demand for gaming.

They will care enough when everyone starts canceling subscriptions and returning consoles, when it hits there bottom line, I see Customer Support and appreciation stepping up when the profits start falling. Watch and See.

In all consideration , and out of good customer relations, they should at least send all PS4 Members and Plus Members ( really need to compensate them) a coupon for 50 percent off any game or something.

This might be My last time purchasing an online console, Im going back to old school if things get to rough, I don't have any PS4 friends anyway, all My friends are on xbox...I just had to try this...smh

I still don't get how a bunch of bots can overload the server, don't You have to register Your console to use the server? There has to be a way to control that. No one should be able to log on the server unless there registered with a legit console.

Still down in Ohio. Console is acting whacked out to..freezing up and not shutting down properly...I also have a charge on My bank account.. I am guessing its the subscription fee that was due, but no email from sony..only a withdrawl from them from My bank.

I have a question if anyone can answer it, I know this is not Sony and not a support site, but, when I put the PS4 into rest mode now I get series of three fast beeps, anyone know what that means?? never had that before either.

Sony was able to take money out of My bank account automatically today for My PSN plus membership, smh, I know get2sammyb, its not related...lol... just saying its kind of ironic.

Is this bc of the games keeping track of trophy's and all that sort of thing?

Sorry I misread that, thought it was a hack..gotcha. Maybe its not an attack, maybe its the gazzillion people that got a PS4 the last few days,,,lol

All they need to do is get a better security system designed by someone else besides there own company..lol

If this is a cyber attack I am very worried about Sony's site security and the fact that they have a lot of account user information and payment information on file in there system..
All of Us PSN users need to be watching the bank account.

Down in Ohio, My problem with this is being a PS Plus Member and paying Monthly for a service that You can't use, and I just rented a streaming game that I have no access to play for the last ...How many hours now??? I hope Sony is planning on giving refunds.
