I think this is a huge oversight on Sony's part. But I am pretty sure it will be fixed in due course. PS4 didn't come with the resume feature and the external HDD support at launch when the Xbox One had them from Day 1. I think if enough people complain about it and make it seen then Sony will take into mind these complaints and do something about them.
