Coming from someone who's never owned a PSP, I'm surprised people are actually willing to pay an average price of £12 per title just to transfer their PSP titles to Vita... To me, I think Sony's messed this thing up inevitably. This would have been better if the Vita had a slot for UMDs, to be backward compatible, or if they had kept to cartridges from the beginning on all PSPs. Plus, this download process will take up quite some space if you ask me; another problem with Sony's branded memory cards.
I suppose it's a good thing they're expanding the final transferrable titles list to 200. That sounds like good coverage anyhow.
It took Sony this long to make a real successor to the PSP. What Sony has been doing to their PSPs over the year is like upgrading the DSi to the DSi XL. No real change, apart from a few minor touches. What says we won't go grey (or at least, us young ones won't ) before we see another greater PlayStation?
What's also absurd is that they believe they've prolonged the PS3 with the invention of Move. That, my friends, has no effect whatsoever on how long it is before the PS3 expires. Which, to me, it already has. Sony needs to get their act together. The PS Vita might be impressive and confronting to the 3DS, but that doesn't mean it's over.
Is it just me, or does this sound a lot like another gaming company we know and love?
I'm liking the features anyway. It's a step-up from the 3DS, and this is coming from a Nintendo fangirl. I always turned my nose up at Sony game products, but this, I am definitely not missing out on. Just unsure whether or not to get the 3G model...
Meh. I can't see any good launch titles in this list yet, so I'll wait a bit. Unless Ridge Racer for Vita is miles better than the 3DS title. Then I'll consider that.
