It's not "cutting edge", it's a stupid waste of time kludge. It only makes latency worse, which is all "frame rate" is usually a measure of anyway, so with this nonsense you get a smoother frame rate but worse latency, which is pointless. It's not worth using at all if you're already only getting a low frame rate because it won't make the game smoother to play, and if you're already getting a high frame rate then it's not making any difference because it's already smooth. It's an utter waste of time and it's depressing to see Nvidia waste their time developing this instead of actually useful things.
