Re: Sony Engineers Investigating as PS4 Goes Offline Again

@GypsysPearl
1. It's not Sony's job to track them down its the job of cyber crime enforces.

2. Its actually not that hard to mask your cyber footprint, a combination of VPN's and reverse proxies is hard to trace.

3. What really needs to happen is more work needs to be done to ignore these idiots I mean these people only do it for attention and fame, the other day someone was telling people he would attack PSN if he didn't get a certain amount of twitter followers, prevention is difficult but Sony should look at history and replicate other network setups to minimise downtime.

And XBL has a huge advantage it has nearly less than half the users and its run by the most targeted company on the internet, MS have a lot of resources and experience and money of course they share everything network related within the business so XBL will always be easier to maintain than PSN unless Sony invest heavily which is doubtful because of the financial situation they are in.

The problem with sony has always been communication I'm sure like many during this outage have checked the European twitter accounts for updates but they are dead, although I understand its difficult to maintain a network with more than 110+ million user accounts after a ddos I would appreciate more feedback than copy and paste repsones from @askplaystation

Re: PSN Offline for Second Day as Attackers Bring Servers Down

And as for the attack itself a denial of service is attack in theory is impossible to stop as its replicates user traffic load but at a gathering load on each request to the survers the traffic increases, so basically if a group have enough bandwidth and resources an attack will always affect the targeted service.
