@fluggy Because displaying any framerate that doesn't neatly multiply into the panel's refresh rate results in distracting judder. Traditionally all consoles output a signal at 60 fps, since that's what TVs natively accept. For 30 fps games each frame is repeated twice which results in consistent motion, anything above or below that causes judder since there's an uneven pacing between frames. Theoretically 15fps & 20 fps would also neatly fit, but it's too slow to be useful. For 120hz displays, a frame can be repeated 3x for 40fps without judder.
