Re: The Last of Us PS5 Remake Pays Tribute to Some of PlayStation's Greats

@andykara2003 Joel dying in the game wasn't the problem with TLoU2. The way TLoU2 was presented was non-sensical when you look at the story and it is a chronological mess. Abby just so happened to run into Joel by complete luck, it was so hokey. The surgeon from TLoU2 is not the same character who was in TLoU1, that was a retcon. "The unit" Abby somehow maintains superhero like muscle mass in a post-apocalyptic world. The game spent more time chasing Lev on an SJW quest to gain mommy's acceptance than time you dealt with zombies in the game.

Here's what should have happened: Abby infiltrates Jackson and becomes a new citizen. She spends most of the game working alongside Joel/Ellie and getting to know them, while at the same time plotting her revenge against him. Over time she begins to befriend them and her conflicting emotions drive the story. Joel could have died toward the end of the game in an impactful way, and it would have made for much better storytelling.

The game was good aside from the story, but that's the problem here. The story needed to be great to continue TLoU's legacy, and TLoU2 failed in that respect.

Also, my name references a Tupac song from the 90's...
