"Would rather see the Saudi group buy them than slimy Netflix"
How about no? Last I looked Netflix didn't publicly execute homosexuals, brutalise women and incarcerate and torture anyone practicing other faiths. And that's just for starters.
I know you probably thought you were being edgy, maybe even funny, but maybe think before posting something so monumentality short-sighted next time. 🤷
The Avatar movies are a strange one. As a franchise it has literally made billions at the box office, yet no one talks about it in the same way as other franchises like LotR, Star Wars, Predator, Terminator etc. It's like it doesn't exist until a new movie arrives, then it disappears off the radar again.
Perhaps it's because outside of the visual grandeur on display they're pretty forgettable movies with forgettable characters. 🤔
No, it is not a fact. As I said to SMJ, you are literally proving my above point. Labelling everything anti-consumer that doesn't accommodate your personal preference.
But hey, believe what to like if it makes you happy 😊
There's absolutely nothing stopping you from owning more than one platform. Every game is available to you if so wish it.
So no, still not "anti-consumer". You are proving my above point, however. Labelling everything anti-consumer that doesn't accommodate your personal preference.
So by that logic every streaming channel, supermarket, car dealership etc is also anti consumer. 😂
I think gamers, more than anyone else, like to bandy around "anti-consumer" more than any other fandom without really understanding what it is to be anti-consumer.
The main difference is all those examples you've cited still require, even today, human involvement to function properly. The difference with AI is as it grows and becomes more complex the need for a human hand at the helm will become redundant.
No I don't, quite correct, and while I'm hoping it's not the case I'm not betting against it. For better or for worse I absolutely believe that long term AI is going to irrevocably changes our lives and not just in entertainment, but in every way you can possibly imagine.
Here's the thing, the AI bubble won't burst. Quite the opposite. AI will soon be engrained in every part of our daily lives in one form or another and it'll only continue to grow.
The reality is these companies no longer need the average consumer. They can continue to sell components to those companies putting AI at the forefront of their business and make bundles of cash hand over foot in the process.

I find it rather unsettling that Saudi Arabia are intent on buying up everything...

Remember the narrative from Fight Club?

No, but it's not anti-consumer either.
Anti-consumer has become a popular buzz-term that gamers like to throw about like they're dishing out donuts every time they don't get their own way.
I'm not saying anti-consumer practices don't exist in the games industry, they most certainly do, but exclusive, first party games do not qualify.
Somewhat amusingly gamers are the first to blub the moment an exclusive title for their chosen platform finds its way onto a "rival platform".

The continued success of Switch and Switch 2 says otherwise.
Exclusive continue to drive hardware sales, no matter how much people like to pretend otherwise.
I've also never seen one sound argument why exclusive games are anti- consumer.

With the exception of Nintendo who jealously hold onto their 1st party IP and hopefully it'll stay that way.

Re: Mini Review: Old School Rally (PS5) - Don't Cut This Retro Rally Throwback
You'd be better off picking up Rush Rally 3. A truly excellent rally title that combines the likes of SEGA Rally, V-Rally and CMR.
