Re: Stellar Blade Difficulty Designed to Be 'Challenging' Yet Approachable

Bezzator

I’m very here for this and I wish some other devs would take note, despite what some on these comments are saying. Blocking access to those with a mental or physical disability who can’t react as quickly as the game demands regardless of how much the story appeals to them feels counterintuitive. Surely you want those sales, surely those who want hard mode can just ignore easier options, not so easy the other way round.

Re: Square Enix Confirms AI Art Use in PS5, PS4 Exclusive Foamstars

Bezzator

@max_the_german that’s not equivalent. A synthesiser is an instrument played/used by a person. if the music was written by AI we’d be in the same space.
The problem with ai is not “ai” itself but the fact that the models are trained on stolen art scraped from the internet. Every piece is technically a derivative work and the original creator should be credited / reimbursed. See the ongoing arguments with SAG-AFTA and rights of actors to their image and voice.

Re: Square Enix Showcases PS5's Possibilities with Tech Demo

If you’re not impressed at this you’re looking at the animation and not the rendering. That lighting is phenomenal... and in real time. Not some pre-rendered cut scene ... real time.

I honestly think that’s remarkable. And if you want better frame rates, if it can do that at the frame rate it’s running there dial it back to RDR2 (I know right, dial it BACK to there) and you can see how FR will improve.

Re: Devil May Cry 5's Dante Battle Music Has Not Gone Down Well

Bezzator

I thought it was alright actually, the mix is off sure ... and the vid, yeah that’s a bit cringe.

You what’s really off though? Calling something “abysmal” when you mean “I don’t like it”. It’s not unique nowadays I grant you, but they are very different things.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2 Will Likely Be Rife with Microtransactions

I'm in the place now where, like @johncalmc I don't really care.
I don't like the pay to win model, but equally I don't tend to play online multiplayer so it's not a real issue for me.
In game in single player, haven't needed to buy anything in AS:O so as long as they are cosmetic and optional and not "nah, you won't finish without it" then I'm fine. Especially if the alternative to fund bigger and bigger budgets would be to push the initial price up to £80 or the likes.

Re: Gran Turismo Sport Has the Best Photo Mode Ever Made

Bezzator

It's pretty but that's not what I'd call a photo mode, it's a nice model viewer in static locations ... where's the option to pause a replay on a particularly classy overtake manoeuvre, swing the camera around and recall your best moments of racing genius? That's a photo mode.
Some of my favourites are in Horizon where I've caught something great mid battle and saved those off.
Unless I've missed something in the vid ...

Re: Review: Mighty No. 9 (PS4)

I'm not really interested in this, I'll be honest about that upfront. It does strike me as odd that a lot of reviews are focusing, at least in part, on the graphics though. Seems strange that the latest 8bit simulating, side scrolling monstrosity gets lauded for it's retro appeal but this gets a "sub par graphics" label stuck on it. If I'm missing something then glad to be educated mind.
