Well what do you know, Gran Turismo Sport finally has a release date on PlayStation 4. It's about time, isn't it? We're happy to report that the racing sim will indeed launch this year, taking a corner to Sony's console on the 18th October.
The trailer that we've embedded above is a short one, but its stylish and it's got that all important date at the end of it.
Will you be going for a drive later this year? Take pole position in the comments section below.

Set for October 18th if anyone is curious.
Oh yes!
@Pink_Floyd Putting the date in the article wasn't enough?
Finally! But will it still have PSP car models?
Dang, I was really hoping for a September relase.
Yes! Better get to finishing all those DriveClub events before October then.
Hallelujah.
Good time to be a racing game fan, with 3 potentially great racers releasing within weeks of each other.
Happy that it isn't August since their already enough games their.
Grant this is same month as Assassin's Creed
@ShogunRok it wasn't when I first clicked on the article. Maybe a problem with the mobile site?
Same month as Assassins Creed and Mario. Well. Two of these will sell well by virtue of being on actual consoles.
@Pink_Floyd Hmmm, weird. Will look into it!
It may have had an earlier release date but after the drive club fiasco they decided to finish it, Sony are pretty good about finishing games before release anyway.
So is that locked in date or just a "this is when we WANT to release it if we don't find anything major we missed" date? I don't believe release dates anymore until they go gold.
Of the 3 big Racers, PC2, Forza and this, GTSport is the one I least likely to purchase.
Haven't been following it, so I don't know if this is like a normal GT game or if the "Sport" hints at being more arcade oriented.
Well, that's Sony's first big Fall exclusive in a few years if the release date holds. I might get GT this year instead of Forza, we'll see when the reviews are out.
@sinalefa Its a normal GT game that has Sport Cars otherwise its a Sim not a Arcade Racer.
I hope the extra year has allowed them to add all of the features from the previous + improvements (Such as a solid campaign). If not this game will be slaughtered releasing in October, in a busy fall for racing games. PC2 is out late Sept, Forza out early October, and both of these games will be fresh for reviewers when playing GT Sport.
@banacheck
Thanks a lot. I may still get it though.
This has a VR mode too right?
Been needing a racer on my PS4. Good to see this has a date attached.
I still want a new Ridge Racer done right. Call me crazy.
Yes i will be picking up GT Sport.
hype
I know I'm a cynic but, this IS a GT game ... so no, it's not coming out in October ... or this year ... or possibly even 2018
Looks might impressive visually.
Not my kind of racer though.
Great! That's very close to my birthday. I'll read some reviews first though. I've always liked the Forza series better.
The thing I keep thinking about is why this wasn't announced @ E3 and given more time during the show; especially with the release date so near.
No Crash, do deal. Only racing I want...
Really looking forward to this! The videos keep looking better and better.
I cannot express how much I love the GT series. It's all about the driving model. Perfection. SNES mini, end of September, 2 weeks later GtSport. Better start saving.
Was hoping for a 30 December release date.
It would technically still be 2017 then.
