I've been playing Destiny since the D1 alpha, and i can honestly say I've never seen it like this before! It's got to the point where there are so many bugs in the game that everytime bungie tries to fix them, they end up adding 10 new bugs. The new light journey is not great at all! I recently helped my nephew through all the campaigns and grind, and i will say that it doesn't do the job its supposed to do. Lightfall's story was just a mash of things that raised more questions than answers. The changes they made to the quality of life side, while some being good, the majority weren't great. The mod system is very lackluster, and a lot of the newer mods have incresed energy to use when bungie said they would cost less. For me, bungie need to take the game offline and use new servers, as i think that would solve a lot of the issues, and potentially make bungies life easier in the long run.
