Re: Review: Buzz!: The Ultimate Music Quiz (PlayStation 3)

AlexWideScreen

Are there no new types of rounds during a traditional round of Buzz? Just the usual Point Builder, Pie Fight etc? If so I won't be picking this up. Was hoping for some new modes, and maybe even team play, but as it is, it's merely a glorified expansion pack (except for the Move modes, which I am not too interested in).

Re: Review: Flight Control HD (PlayStation Network)

AlexWideScreen

I assume you Americans can simply create a EU account and download it from there? I (being a European) have done this lots of times with my US account, so I suppose it works just as well the other way around.

Kinda bummed they don't have a demo for this game. Looks fun enough, but also very simple. Very unsure of whether this will appeal to me or not. These kinds of "simple" games are a hit and miss with me. Then again, it's only 5£...

Re: Tumble Developer Claims Move is "Too Precise"

AlexWideScreen

Has anybody else tried this game yet? Tried the demo yesterday and wasn't too impressed with the "controls". When trying to move an item forward or backward, the game would often misinterpret what I was doing and send the item the opposite way or maybe not do anything at all. I also felt that it wasn't as sensitive as some reviews have suggested. Will try to position the camera higher today (no easy way to wallmount the darn thing), as it was positioned slightly below me yesterday. Maybe that was the cause...

Otherwise seemed as a pretty fun little game.

Re: Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition Move Patch Now Live

AlexWideScreen

I ordered one from Amazon a couple of days ago. Cost about 14£ i believe. Have already unlocked all the original achievements on my XBox version of the game, but 14£ is a very small price to pay for Move support and the additional content (2 new chapters, multiplayer and some new characters). Can hardly wait to play it again with Move.

Re: Heavy Rain Gets Move Patch and Demo on September 22nd

AlexWideScreen

Kinda sucks that those who buy the game for the first time now - even at a discounted price - gets more content than those of us who bought upon release. Not that this is a new thing, GOTY editions have been going on for years. This time it just seems so soon, to be giving away extra content. Those dynamic themes would have been cool...

Re: Killzone 3 Developer Video Sheds More Light on Move Controls

AlexWideScreen

Not too impressed by this. The rotation seems really slow, and I think the dead zone in the game seems to be way too big. Hopefully both of these are adjustable. Have played some FPS on the Wii, and this seems much slower than those. But I can't imagine that the Move wouldn't be able to deliver the same fluidity in the aiming as the Wii, so this is hopefully just a matter of optimization or customization.

Re: Move Starter Disc Contents Laid Bare

AlexWideScreen

Seems decent enough. Would liked to try archery in Sports Champions, or the Gladiator mode. Had hoped to try something more mature shooter thingy, like a Resident Evil or Socom demo.

Anybody know when echochrome is released? Looks like an interesting title. Still a bit worrying that the titles I'm most interested in (echochrome and Tumble) are "simple" PSN titles.

Re: The Motherlode of European PlayStation Move Launch Information

AlexWideScreen

I intend to pick up the Starter Pack (about 60£ here), a navigation controller (30£) and Resident Evil Gold (30£). Will have to read some reviews on Resident Evil before buying, as I have already played it to death on the 360. But if the controllers give the same experience that Resident Evil 4 was on the Wii, it's definitely worth a second go.

Might download Tumble too, but will try the demo before buying. And if I feel really crazy on the 15th, I miiiiiight pick up Sports Champions too, but then I would need another Move Controller for the archery and gladiator modes. No way I am playing those with just one Move. Will also keep my eye on RUSE, though reports (IGN) claims it's just as playable without Move. Luckily the demo on PSN supports Move.

Overall I think the whole launch line up is below average. There is no killer app for the controller. Where the Wii felt fresh and exciting with Wii Sports, Sports Champions seems less impressive by now. And the rest of the line-up seems like tech-demos with some nice paint. Kung Fu-Rider looks awful, even more so considering it is a normal disc-based game, and not a 5£ download.

Re: Features: Why Not Create a Fitness RPG?

AlexWideScreen

Loving this idea. The whole problem (for me at least) with training is the lack of motivation to get started. I have tried doing it for periods, but before long I get bored and give up. A game with constant rewards for training coupled with an engaging story seems like a perfect match. The game wouldn't really require increased fitness to reward you, it could simply give you experience points in the game based on HOW MUCH you workout, not necessarily on HOW WELL you perform. That way everybody would be rewarded, not only people who are fit, or people who increase their performance over time (hard for someone who is already very athletic to boost his fitness with some "casual" workouts).

If this game was to be made (and good), I would pick it up in a heartbeat. I still intend to buy EA Active 2 for either Move or Kinect, but I fear I might get bored with that too in a short time.
