As someone who's played these games and loves Mega Man in general I'm ecstatic about this collection It and ZX are the only two series' to have never left their debut console prior, but with this especially it had so much to benefit from an archive release.
I can't go anywhere sadly without seeing someone whining about where Mega Man Legends is and it's pretty goofy, I'm not even bring up sales or anything because I myself think Legends would do better today than it did back then, However It's Star Force's 20th anniversary next year, In addition to the MMBNLC being the fastest selling Mega Man game of all time, It would be baffling for Capcom to NOT follow that success up with the next closest thing, and then lastly think about it like this, Maybe they're trying to highlight Mega Man's pillars, they ported all the 2D action platformers first, then the did Mega Man's RPG adventures, they'll cap with Mega Man's 3D adventures.
Why on Earth would they go from RPG randomly to 3D action, and then cap off by going back to RPG it makes no sense.
Anyway this is a day one for me, Mega Man's future is looking the brightest it has in years and I just want to revel in that.
@somnambulance This is pretty funny to me because firstly a lot of the devteam responsible for Legends were heavily involved in both Battle Network and Star Force, and then secondly because they kind of are objectively closer to what Mega Man typically is than Legends is despite being in an alternate timeline.
Mega Man typically involves a futuristic setting where advancements in technology have influenced the world immensely, protagonist is an elementally blank blue hero who's default weapon is arm canon, he fights against his elemental counterparts traverses through stages themed around said bosses and can copy the abilities of said adversaries and use them to problem solve or exploit the weaknesses of other enemies, gameplay emphasizes pattern recognition and twitch reflexes in order to see success.
BN and SF do all of this, Legends does like the first two of those and the first one is a stretch given Legends future is technologically regressed from even Classic MM.
It's kind of the least "Mega Man" and I don't even hate it for that, it's neat on its own merits I'm just being objective.
@PuppetMaster I mean he was strange to me when I was a kid but his design grew on me, regardless of how I felt then and how I feel now I wouldn't call his design not memorable, between the visor helmet, spiky hair, and his buster, that design certainly sticks out.
"He doesn't look like an android" Idk maybe because he isn't one?
