It is borderline impossible to play to a T without a beaming smile plastered across your face the entire time. This is one of the most joyous, feel-good games on PS5, and all it takes is a teenager stuck in a permanent T-pose.
From the Katamari creator Keita Takahashi and his team at Uvula, the quirky adventure is a bit like Heavy Rain — yet simplified, even more eccentric, and with a dash of song and dance. You follow Teen and their dog as the two navigate life in the form of a letter T.
The story explores how Teen became the shape they are while they attend school and turn bullies into friends. In terms of how you assist them along that journey, it’s all about helping them perform everyday tasks, from going to the toilet and brushing their teeth to eating breakfast and picking out the best pair of shoes for school.
Simple button presses bring those activities to life, and then you explore a small town either on foot or riding a unicycle. The game guides you from one scene to the next, but you do have the freedom to tour a few blocks and meet more unusual characters and partake in bizarre activities.
The general gameplay loop is enjoyable, but it’s the interactions, music, presentation, and narrative surrounding it that truly elevate the experience. to a T is a complete joy to play across its roughly five-hour runtime. From the moment the theme song kicks in at the start of each episode, you’re guaranteed one strange situation after another. It’s the best type of weird there is.
Some objectives can prove slightly too peculiar, resulting in struggles to work out what to do next. You also don’t have any camera control, which makes finding your way a struggle as the perspective becomes too tight on Teen. This can make it very difficult to see where you’re going.
These are, however, minor blemishes on a truly delightful undertaking. No matter how outlandish the plot gets, it remains close to home with messages to embrace who you are — especially through the difficult teenage years.
From one odd scenario to the next, to a T manages to be just as quirky and ludicrous as it is personal and touching. The overriding emotion, though, is one of joy. to a T is the perfect pick-me-up, guaranteed to make you smile no matter the circumstances.

Any idea what it costs? It doesn't seem to be available yet at the GER store at least.
Since it's coming to gamepass immediately I was crossing my fingers for a suprise PS Plus launch as well, but it's okay.
@Chapapa It’s $20 with a 10% launch discount, so maybe around €15-€18?
Mega64 just did a great video for this game!
I'm more shaped like a lower case b these days due to middle age and too many calzones and fanta 😆
Edit - That T position just reminds me of football hooligans ready for a scrap. A kinda "come on then'
I can’t wait for this one! It may temporarily top my current GotY list, given how I feel about Katamari and Wattam. Can’t wait to come home from work to play this.
Yeah there's no way I won't be playing this at some point. It looks brilliantly ridiculous
The King of All Cosmos is still one of the greatest video game characters ever created.
Waiting/hoping for a limited physical release for this one, so it can sit on the shelf with Wattam and the Katamari games.
Removed - unconstructive
I’m about halfway through the game after playing it today. I gotta say: it’s the most fun I’ve had with a game this year by miles. It’s just such a wholesome and satisfying game. It’s great to play with the kids too. Most fun I’ve had since Astro Bot.
Unless something really horrible happens, Death Stranding 2 is certainly going to be my GotY (hey, DS1 is my favorite game of all time!), but I wouldn’t be surprised if To A T ends up being in my top 5 this year. It’s definitely jumped over Blue Prince into being my favorite game so far this year. I know Opencritic’ll tell you this is a 73, but if you liked the weird in the earlier PS eras, but also like your games positive, this is an absolute must buy. Those critics that gave this a 6/10 need to smile once in a while, and I say this as someone that’d say Alan Wake 2’s my favorite game so far in the PS5 generation. To a T tops Wattam in my book. Support unique games like this.
@somnambulance I just saw your rating of this on pure and came here to read this review which I'd ignored. I love the zanniness of katamari, so how Id let this slip under radar is hard to imagine.
Thank you for extolling its virtues so highly, youve helped me find what I know Im going rate very highly. 👍
@Titntin If you liked Katamari, I recommend this one and Wattam for sure, even though they are very different experiences from Katamari. The game is just so darn calm and welcoming. At the very least, it’s on Gamepass, so no stress in trying it out.
Gotta keep the weird games alive in 2025!
I'm playing it, and struggling to work out how it's anything at all like Heavy Rain..?
