Bend Studio, the first-party team best known for Days Gone, plans to reveal and potentially even release its next game in 2027.

That's according to a new MP1st report, which shares more details on the project. The outlet claims an announcement will take place next year and it's "much further along in development" than you might think, so much so that Bend Studio is also planning to release it in 2027.

MP1st calls the project a third-person experience with co-op features, but it's not a live service title.

The website also claims it won't be a sequel to Days Gone. Previous reports stated Bend Studio pitched a Days Gone 2 to Sony after the first game, but it was turned down. It then actually did turn its attention to a Game as a Service, though this was cancelled at the start of last year.

Now, according to the outlet, Bend Studio is gearing up to announce and release its project next year. With Until Dawn 2, God of War Laufey, and potentially also Intergalactic slated for 2027, it could be a busy 12 months for Sony's first-party developers.

This is just the latest report from MP1st surrounding PlayStation's unannounced plans. It has also suggested a Killzone project is in the works, and teased what to expect from Media Molecule next.

With a new PS5 title around the corner, Bend Studio is indeed best known for Days Gone, as its biggest and most recent project. However, the developer has been part of Sony for over 20 years. In that time, it also made tons of Syphon Filter games, Resistance: Retribution for PSP, and Uncharted: Golden Abyss on the PS Vita.

With a Days Gone sequel ruled out, what do you hope Bend Studio is working on? Let us know in the comments below.
