Sony has today pushed live a new PS5 firmware patch that updates the console to version number 26.07-14.20.00. The new firmware is live now, so you should be prompted to download it shortly.

As per the official PlayStation website, the single patch note for update 26.07-14.20.00 is as follows:

  • We've improved the messages and usability on some screens.

It's a very simple and straightforward firmware update this time around; the PS5 system isn't even getting any improved stability this time, as these system patches have most famously noted in the past. Still, at least messages will look a bit better on "some screens".

There may be a possibility Sony has made some security changes and updates to the PS5 operating system, but hasn't included the details in the public post. This is because PS5 jailbreaking and hacking have dramatically increased in the past month

I doubt there'll be any, but if there are any hidden extra features found in this PS5 firmware update, I'll update the article with them. Have you been having any issues with messages on your screen? Let us know in the comments below.
