I’ve always been keen on trying a Gundam game, but the various ones Rob has reviewed for the site always looked a bit too scrappy or technical for my tastes.

Enter the upcoming Gundam Rogue Orbit, then, which is launching on the PS5 from 5th March.

This one looks like a much more premium effort, with a flashy combat system that honestly reminds me of Zenless Zone Zero – despite its inclusion of oversized mechs.

This gameplay deep dive runs through all the details, with an enthusiastic voice over explaining all of the features. It focuses on the plot, the action, and the customisation – the latter looks extraordinarily in depth to me, but I assume it’s typical for the series.

I’m not really expecting 2027’s Game of the Year here, but I do think it looks like a lot of fun and certainly a cut above other Gundam games.

How about you? Is this game on your radar at all? Are you a Gundam veteran like our very own Rob – or a bit more of a newcomer like me? Suit up in the comments section below.
