The Next Game from the PixelJunk Devs Leaks Online as Gamescom Looms 1

This week should be a big one for video game news, as Gamescom Opening Night Live kicks off the German expo with a big show very soon.

It looks as though one of the presentation's surprises may have been spoiled a little early, however, as a playtest version has popped up on SteamDB that pretty much confirms its existence.

Last week, CEO of Q-Games, Dylan Cuthbert, teased the studio would be making an announcement soon. Well, it seems we now know what it'll be.

As spotted and shared by Wario64, it looks like PixelJunk Monsters 3 is on the way.

A screenshot of the SteamDB page can be seen here:

The page now has blank images, but you can view the change log on the site and observe the official art for yourself.

Between Cuthbert's post and this newly found page, it seems very likely that PixelJunk Monsters 3 will be announced in due course.

PixelJunk Monsters is a tower defence real-time strategy game in which you install and upgrade various weapons and structures to fend off the titular monsters. It's one of the best-loved games in the PixelJunk series.

PixelJunk Monsters 2 didn't get quite the same amount of love when it launched back in 2018; it's still an enjoyable game, but fans generally prefer the original.

Interestingly, the key artwork for Monsters 3 suggests it may be returning to the first game's art style after the second game made a big departure.

Anyway, it seems it won't be long before this is made official. Are you a PixelJunk Monsters fan? Tell us in the comments section below.
