Update []:
Q-Games, the studio behind the PixelJunk series and plenty more, has confirmed it'll be taking part in the upcoming Future Games Show presentation:
Taking place during Gamescom, the Future Games Show is scheduled for tomorrow, 26th August at 10am PDT / 1pm EDT / 6pm BST / 7pm CEST, and it seems as though this will be the venue for Q-Games' new game announcement.
I presumed it would be shown during Gamescom Opening Night Live, but it looks like the game will make its debut a day later.

As detailed below, we may already know what the game is, thanks to a leak via Steam — read on to learn more.
Original Story: This week should be a big one for video game news, as Gamescom Opening Night Live kicks off the German expo with a big show very soon.
It looks as though one of the presentation's surprises may have been spoiled a little early, however, as a playtest version has popped up on SteamDB that pretty much confirms its existence.
Last week, CEO of Q-Games, Dylan Cuthbert, teased the studio would be making an announcement soon. Well, it seems we now know what it'll be.
As spotted and shared by Wario64, it looks like PixelJunk Monsters 3 is on the way.
A screenshot of the SteamDB page can be seen here:
The page now has blank images, but you can view the change log on the site and observe the official art for yourself.
Between Cuthbert's post and this newly found page, it seems very likely that PixelJunk Monsters 3 will be announced in due course.
PixelJunk Monsters is a tower defence real-time strategy game in which you install and upgrade various weapons and structures to fend off the titular monsters. It's one of the best-loved games in the PixelJunk series.
PixelJunk Monsters 2 didn't get quite the same amount of love when it launched back in 2018; it's still an enjoyable game, but fans generally prefer the original.
Interestingly, the key artwork for Monsters 3 suggests it may be returning to the first game's art style after the second game made a big departure.
Anyway, it seems it won't be long before this is made official. Are you a PixelJunk Monsters fan? Tell us in the comments section below.

Oh, yes please! Their absolute best IP
I'm down for a new PixelJunk Monsters to be honest.
Excellent news, really enjoy the PixelJunk Monsters series.
I hope it's more like the first game than Part 2.
The load times on the second game were excruciating long. I hope that they fix that
This excites me! Definitely down for a bit more pixel junk and Monsters is the best IP
I'd prefer a sequel to the amazing, but terribly-named, 'Nom Nom Galaxy', but this sounds fine. Monsters 2 had surprisingly lovely graphics so would expect a current gen game to look stunning.
Yoooooooo, if PJ Monsters 3 goes back to 2D I am all over it. I did not give with 2 at all, it really felt like a fundamentally different game being in 3D - not bad at all, but just not what I wanted out of a sequel.
On a side note, I'd loke a new PJ Shooter. I loved moving water and magma around in a shoot 'em up.
@deadfred77 I’d love a Nom Nom Galaxy 2 as well! Monsters is my first love though when it comes to PJ so I’m very happy to see another one! 😍
I’m down for more from PixelJunk! I’ll have to keep my eye out!
Playing PJM2 now because I was in the mood for a tower defense game after Plants vs Zombies Replanted last year.
I'm having fun figuring out the best strategies per stage, but the game desperately needed a fast forward button. Since part of the 100% requirements ask for "perfect" clears, aka no little tikis get attacked at your base, you can easily spend 25-30 mins on some stages, mess up, and have to do the whole thing over again. Not the best respect of one's time.
Still apart from that, I'm having fun with it.
Huzzah! Good memories playing this with my kids. Glad to have another one while they are still young.
I'd love a Remaster for PixelJunk Eden 1... Put so many hours in it... 🥹
Edit: Typo
I love this series! So charming and fun to play! Give me nowwwww.
My kingdom for another pixeljunk shooter game. Those were amazing.
I've been looking to try my first Tower Defense game, and had no idea where to start. Perhaps one to keep an eye on. I saw one called Orcs or something and almost tried it, that was months ago. It's the constant waves that I'm not sure about, it sounds a little like a hoard night in a survival game, except non-stop.
