Train Sim World 6’s most anticipated route by a Japanese country mile is finally launching later this month, on 30th July for PS5.
The Tadami Line – first unveiled during the Train Sim World 4 era – has been in development at Union Workshop for an eternity, and is finally ready to bring 40 acres of scenic railway action to Sony’s console.
As a fan of various Japanese railway sims, from Densha de Go to Sonic Powered’s efforts, I’ve been waiting for this particular expansion pack for an eternity. And it looks like it’s going to live up to the hype.
The press release mentions that you’ll be able to commandeer the KiHa 40 diesel railcar through different seasons, experiencing the iconic cherry blossoms of the spring through to the frozen tundras of winter.
The blurb continues:
“Dense forests, mountain valleys, and traditional architecture surround the railway as it follows the winding Tadami River. Along the way, cross iconic bridges, pass the region’s dam, and call at 28 detailed stations nestled among towns and villages. Every corner offers another view to take in, whether you are driving, riding as a passenger or exploring the route on foot.”
I’m so excited to play this as, while I really enjoy Train Sim World 6 overall, I really tire of the samey routes in places like the UK and Germany.
I know dev Dovetail has been working to add more countries to its roster, but I’m extremely excited to see Japan finally added to the list. I hope it can work to add more Japanese railways, and maybe even some in other parts of Asia.
