Digital Eclipse has made its name making digital museums for retro games like Atari 50 and the Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection, but I love its approach with Barbie Rewind.
Rather than a virtual gallery, this is presented as a pixel art PlayHouse, where you’ll be able to decorate Barbie’s home with furniture and accessories from the history of the brand.
How do you unlock them? Well, you need to play 16 classic Barbie games, spanning a wide array of consoles from over the years.

The lineup of games shown in the trailer includes:
- Barbie (1991)
- Barbie Game Girl (1992)
- Barbie Super Model (1993)
- Barbie Vacation Adventure (1994)
- Barbie: Race & Ride (1999)
- Barbie Super Sports (1999)
- Barbie: Pet Rescue (2001)
- Barbie: Groovy Games (2002)
- Super Agent Barbie: Royal Jewel Mission (2002)
- Barbie Horse Adventures Blue Ribbon Race (2003)
- The Barbie Diaries: High School Mystery (2006)
Amusingly, this game is not scared of GTA 6 and will launch on the PS5 and PS4 on 12th November, just a week before Rockstar’s release.
A physical version is available to pre-order from publisher Atari’s official website.
I must admit I’ve never played any of the Barbie games, but there’s never been a better time to give them a go, has there?

Yes…when I think “coolest retro compilation,” I absolutely think of Barbie games.
I would never play this, buts its pretty cool how they did this.
I'm not buying anything from Digital Eclipse ever again. I was super excited for the Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection that I pre-ordered the big collector's edition and snagged a digital copy for launch day.
The digital copy had horrendous offline (yes, offline) input lag on PS5 and the online was pretty much unplayable.
And I still haven't received my collector's edition...and earlier this year when I tried to cancel it and get a refund they essentially told me to go f*** myself.
They fooled me once but it won't happen again lol
