F1 25 has always made good use of the PS5 Pro, but Codemasters is improving the image quality in the release’s upcoming 2026 Season Update.
Due out later this week, on 3rd June, the DLC pack will incorporate native PSSR2 support, resulting in “more performance and a higher quality image”.
Speaking on the PS Blog, Technical Producer Si Lumb explained: “Players should notice a sharper image when booting F1 25 at the launch of the 2026 Season Pack.”
This will be apparent across all three of the sim racer’s graphics modes: Quality, Performance, and Resolution.
As a quick reminder, Quality runs at 60fps with ray tracing, while Performance runs at a blistering 120Hz on compatible displays, like Sony’s new 27” PlayStation monitor.
Resolution, meanwhile, targets a crisp 8K for anyone who has a compatible display.
PSSR2 will help clean up the image quality from the internal rendering resolution, and Sony’s updated solution has already proven since launching in March that it’s up there with the best AI-based upscalers on the market. Expect good results here, too.
On the subject of the DLC itself, this is replacing the usual annual release from Codemasters and EA Sports. But it will incorporate all of the usual rule tweaks, roster changes, and even the new Madring circuit.
Something for petrolheads to look out for, then.
