@Reeneman I agree. With a racing wheel and PSVR2 it's absolutely amazing and as close to driving a real car as you'd get without spending £5000 on a gaming pc and VR.

An excellent update yet again. This has been my go to psvr2 game ever since I got the headset.
I'm bettng these cars/category will be in race C next week. Going to be great driving them.

OoooOooooh! Have to admit, as much as I do not like live service/games as a service (and it really does irk me that this is always online), Polyphony have certainly earned their pennies off of me!

Nearly cried two days ago playing GT7 when I was 0.34 of a second away from passing S10 in the licence tests

@LiamOliver this is one of the examples when people say they hate live service stuff , but this is a great example of a live service game.

@twitchtvpat it’s because “live service” has become a beast of a phrase…. This game is a monster solo player game that gets constant content to build on the launch content. IMHO that’s not what most live service games are… they are multiplayer focused games with no real campaign that try to follow a fortnite model

@LiamOliver everyone should not want this to be online only. So much solo player content and racing goodness that one day will be unplayable. Hope they patch it to be playable offline before they kill servers

@Stocksy i hate to tell you this but , " that gets constant content to build on the launch content" is literally the definition of what a live service game actually is. but for some reason people have gotten it stuck in their head the only types of live service games is mp fortnite type games. the new marvel fighting game coming to ps5 is another example of a live service title, street fighter 6 also live service. i think that's why live service games get a bad name because people don't really understand what exactly a live service game is.

The support is indeed excellent, but I’ve fallen in a vacuum with the game. The higher licenses and races are way too hard for me and the easier stuff isn’t interesting anymore. The weekly challenges are just way too easy, I did all the menus a long time ago, I’ve collected all cars except the 20 mln ones and grinding for credits feels like a chore.

@Stocksy I hear ya brother! GT Sport was made offline playable upon server shutdown (granting me time to get the plat), and I've said before, the disc/earliest versions of the game feel like server connection was a cobbled on after thought.

Although it was suggested to me recently that it was to stop cheating/fudging the single player timed leader boards (even if they're supposed to be against friends) . Which kinda makes sense. I guess.

@LiamOliver I feel like this has gone off the rails quite a bit , but its clear we both enjoy the game , as its a ton of fun imo to play , and the fact that it keeps getting updates imo is great to see and gives me a reason to keep coming back , even though i would still be playing it.

@PeteW absolutely agree. I've just got my T598 back after having it repaired due to a power supply fault and I can't wait to get my psvr2 headset out later for a serious GT7 session. God I missed my T598..

I never liked Gran Turismo, it was "too realistic" for my taste. But at a car boot sale, an old chap was selling the Logitech Wheel + Pedals+ GT7 for PS4 for £100 (the wheel/pedals it self goes for £170 - £200) on its own.

What a game changer, I love it, makes the game much more enjoyable! And all the content included is amazing, looking forward to playing it more!

@Reeneman It's hard to compare GT with some of my other favorite games such as Red Dead 2 and Bloodborne, or even good old Daytona USA, but GT7 is by far my most played game of all time.

@Stocksy @twitchtvpat When Sony announced its infamous push into GaaS back in 2022, it did not include GT7, mainly because it's a full-premium retail product with a traditional Single-Player Foundation. Makes sense if you ask me.

Despite that, GT7 is considered a successful live-service game alongside Helldivers 2 an MLB The Show by Sony itself in later reports. It looks to me that the reclassification is a bit of a shameless turn to try to make the GaaS initiative less of a fiasco.

Anyway, these discussions regarding games' taxonomy are a bit of a dead end.

Possibly a stupid question but do you need to buy all these new cars that get released with in-game currency, or are they just available to pickup and drive?

@Northern_munkey The T598 was my first ever wheel. I upgraded to the Logitech RS50 which is more powerful but I miss how alive the T598 felt and the gear jolt.

@JimmyRiddle In-game currency. But in my experience, it's never been an issue. The real fun of the game is in the races, and you get credits for every single thing you do. So, you accumulate credits easily and naturally without much effort.

I'm never short of money, except for when I bought Airton Senna's MacLaren. This and very few others are truly expensive, as they carry "legendary" status. But most cars are quite easily attainable, even some of the more exotic ones.

@PeteW my first wheel was a T150 which I bought because I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy sim racing..I very quickly decided a direct drive unit was the way to go and I originally planned on getting the fanatec GT7 one but ultimately opted for the T598 which was the better wheel in terms of performance to price ratio..I love it.

@Art_Vandelay great, thanks for the info. I bought the game when it came out and completed the ‘story’ but never went beyond that. I’m not one for grinding or paying real money for currency so good to see it not too much of a chore.

@JimmyRiddle I mean, someone who doesn't enjoy racing might consider it a chore, but that's the whole point of the game, right?

And if haven't touched it for a while, you'd be amazed by how much content Polyphony has added. Between cafe menus, events, missions, license tests and multiplayer content, I doubt you'd run out of stuff to do.

But again, it all boils down to how much you enjoy racing and car culture.
