It gives us a sense of the general setting for the sequel, as well as the horror themes and mechanics returning from the excellent first game. There's no date attached yet, but the fact that we know Alien Isolation 2 is in development is enough for now.

On a remote, storm-ravaged colony-world, players will endure the elements as they navigate the planet’s surface, and explore the claustrophobic confines of the Weyland-Yutani outpost of Kurosaki Station. It’s a new hunting-ground for the Alien, forcing players to improvise and develop new tools, techniques and tactics to survive the deadly game of cat-and-mouse.

Are we going to be hunted by multiple xenomorphs this time I wonder. Excited to see how they build on the first.
Yeah this one is very high on my most anticipated list. Cannot wait to see more. Follows the original two films thematically as well, with the majority of the first being on a spacecraft (nostromo and Sevastopol) then the second - like Aliens - being on a colony world planet now.
Looks great. Day one purchase for sure.

Alien Isolation 1 would be one of the best PSVR2 games imaginable.
The fact that they didn’t use the chance to announce a remaster of AI1 in this trailer tells me that we will probably never see it.
Alien isolation might well be the best survival horror game ever made
I can’t wait for IGN to give it 5.9 because it’s too difficult and scary like they did with the first game!
Isolation is not a perfect game by any means but it is a damn good one and and excellent survival horror game that succeeded in making the big chap scary again and giving us the best sequel to the original since 1986.
@BearsEatBeets I seem to recall there were multiple in Isolation, too.
@Mythologue yes, you've made me dig deeper in my memory and I think you probably right. It was only right near the end in the final chapter or so wasn't it?
Maybe I should do a replay soon. Especially if the sequel carries on with Amanda Ripley.
@BearsEatBeets Yeah, near the very end of the game, so I guess it would be cool if they expanded on that concept, maybe drew it out longer across the length of the game.
Alien Isolation was such a great experience. Felt like playing a movie. Super stoked for this!
The first one was easily the most terrifying game I've ever played. I cannot wait for the sequel, day one.
