Marvel's Wolverine PS5 Game Gets Cool Comic Book Cover Tribute

A special variant cover of Marvel’s current Wolverine comic run will be made available later this year, celebrating the release of Insomniac’s new game.

The cover, featuring artwork from the PS5 exclusive, will grace Vol 8 Issue #25 of Saladin Ahmed’s stint. It’s styled like a document folder, with a message ‘For the Players’ on the front – a nod to Sony’s marketing slogan.

Actually, this cover itself is a homage to Vol 2 Issue #50, which was released all the way back in 1991. That comic book had a similar “file” format, with Wolverine’ claws cutting through the cover, revealing the artwork behind.

So, it’s a fun nod to a classic Wolverine comic, then – and advertising for the upcoming game.

Remember, we’ll be seeing a lot more of Logan next month, during Sony’s big summer State of Play on 2nd June.
