Blizzard's released a solid 12 minutes of Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred gameplay as we quickly approach the expansion's 28th April launch.

In truth, we don't know if you can surprise people with Diablo 4 footage at this point, but the DLC does seem to start strong. Its opening sees your hero board a boat that ends up being beset by all manner of monsters, and you need to drive them back.

The battle sees you carve your way through the lower rungs before surfacing back onto the splintered deck, where you face off against some kind of sea-dwelling abomination. Again, we think it looks like a pretty great beginning to what will hopefully be a top tier expansion.

For what it's worth, Diablo 4 has been basking in a bit more positivity recently, with early access to the Paladin class going down well with dedicated players. A second Lord of Hatred class, the Warlock, will be available when the DLC hits.

And of course, the expansion's promising more than fresh story content. An update that includes a total rework of existing skill trees is coming alongside the DLC, and major adjustments are being made to endgame activities.
