Y’know what, in the absence of a new Virtua Tennis or Hot Shots Tennis, we think we’ll settle for Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis: Next!.
Due out on 28th May from Gameloft and Old Skull Games, this is your typical zany licensed affair, loosely inspired by the rules of tennis with power-ups and other paraphernalia.
Featuring an eclectic mix of 15 characters, including SpongeBob and Garfield, the game will feature a single player story mode and local multiplayer.

At $29.99/£24.99 the game’s not going to break the bank, but a lot will depend on its overall feel. Looking at the trailer, the frame rate looks pretty choppy when the action gets hectic, so we hope that gets cleaned up before launch.
