Honkai: Star Rail’s huge third anniversary update v4.2 will come with more than 30 free pulls when it releases on 22nd April, with many more earnable through the usual mix of gameplay events.
Before we get too deeply into the patch itself, here are the latest redemption codes, which you can redeem for 300 Stellar Jade right now:
We’re most excited for the addition of Silver Wolf LV.999 in this update, who looks like she’s going to pair very nicely with our Sparxie.
She’s a 5-Star Imaginary character who follows the Path of Elation, and her gameplay looks really fun. She can grant teammates immunity to enemy control, and also she can spawn in virtual “loot boxes” which apply various buffs to your allies.
Much like with Sparxie, her animations are incredibly fun, aping retro video game bonus stages. She’ll front the first phase of the update alongside reruns of The Dahlia, Castorice, and Firefly.
The second half will be headlined by Evanescia, a 5-Star Physical character also on the Path of Elation. She’s capable of generating energy and damage over time via her ‘Certified Banger’ status, and she can also buff her teammates through her Elation Skill.
It’s worth noting that this patch will also see the introduction of the Trailblazer’s Elation path, which will give the protagonist a new kit in combat to take advantage of.
The hero will wield a glowstick and will also be able to contribute to the ‘Certified Banger’ status, so should make a nice partner for Evanescia if you’re planning to pull for her.
While the Trailblazer will be free to unlock, Evanescia will headline the second phase of the update, alongside Tribbie, Sunday, and Feixiao.
As you’d expect, v4.2 will continue the story of the Phantasmoon Games, introducing a new location on Planarcadia named Seafeld City.
In addition to all of the free pulls, there’ll also be various events throughout the cycle, including a massive new expansion pack for endgame mode Currency Wars, as well as a combat event where you’ll turn your hand to a spot of livestreaming.
On top of that, the trading card game Cosmicon Collective will be getting a co-op mode, while other new features will allow you to invite friends to the Astral Express and decorate your virtual bedroom.
This update is absolutely bursting with content, then, and reward top-ups will be reset upon its release so you’re going to have lots of pulls if you’re planning to get Silver Wolf LV.999, Evanescia, or any of the character reruns.
