What was meant to be a bonus, feel-good update for the remastered collection of PS1 classics has quickly turned sour, as the Tomb Raider community heavily criticised the newly-added content. Even though the Challenge Mode was a free addition, many people feel its contents and the bonus outfits make the game a worse product.
The replies to the social media post above are flooded with fans asking for the patch to be removed and the game be reverted back to the version before it. "Revert the game back to Patch 4. It's cheaper for you guys and we will be much happier without the new 'update' and knowing our trilogy is actually stable," said @JadenOfAtlantis. "That's honestly the only way out of this. The new outfits are unwanted, and so is the new mode. No point trying to fix this."
Some fans still believe AI was involved in the patch's creation: "You’re literally lying to us. All of the new icons for the trophies are AI and it’s very obvious," responded @MightyCroft. "You guys looked up at the update and didn’t see anything wrong? When will y’all learn to not rush things for unstable releases?"
Aspyr Media is now asking that anyone who would like to help to report the bugs and glitches themselves. One of the standout issues introduced by the update has been textures randomly swapped out for others. For example, the bridge in the Reddit post below was swapped out for the front of a passport:
