Code Vein 2 Patch 1.0.5

We're not sure just how many players have been critical of Code Vein 2's difficulty, but judging by the game's new update, there was clearly room for improvement.

Bandai Namco has published the full patch notes for version 1.0.5, which is available to download now on PS5. In short, the update makes some pretty significant changes to the fundamentals of combat, and overall, it should mean that the game's quite a bit easier.

Core player actions, like dodging, guarding, follow-up attacks, and magic spells have all been made faster and more effective.

Meanwhile, enemies have been nerfed. Bosses now attack less, leaving more room for you to deal damage, and foes who have been knocked down are invulnerable for less time.

And in general, enemies are just much easier to stagger, and guards are easier to break.

When you add all of this stuff together, this feels like a significant swing in gameplay balance; the developer's even added more resurrection monuments, which essentially work as checkpoints should you fall in battle.

Code Vein 2 Patch Notes

You can read the full patch notes on Bandai Namco's official website. Quite frankly, they're far too big for us to be posting on this page.

Code Vein 2 has been out for just over a month, so it's interesting to see the developer reshape the combat to such a degree. The title was met with pretty lukewarm reviews, which may have contributed to this rethink.
