Romeo Is a Dead Man, the oddball action game from Grasshopper and industry legend Suda51, is out now on PS5.
But the industrious Tokyo-based studio has more to come – and is “almost 100% certain” it’ll release a second game in 2026. It’s keeping the specific details of that project under wraps.
Here’s what Suda51 said during a brief Grasshopper Direct, posted to YouTube:
“We actually have a surprise announcement for you all in this Grasshopper Direct. It’s almost 100 percent certain that we’ll be releasing one more game during 2026. What kind of game? When can we announce it? We’re not sure just yet. But if you wait a little longer, I feel like we’ll be able to make an announcement soon.”
In other news, Suda51 confirmed that his team is planning to release an art book and soundtrack for Romeo Is a Dead Man in the near future. And it’s “currently in talks with several companies” about a physical release.
As for the game itself, we found it absurd and entertaining – even if it’s not without its drawbacks.

“Just as enjoyable as it is frustrating, Romeo Is a Dead Man is an incredibly uneven experience. You’ll love it one minute and hate it the next. Persevere with its more annoying elements, and you’ll discover a unique and entertaining hack and slasher at the end of it all. It just takes a lot of effort and restraint to get there.”
