In-depth sci-fi survival management sim Star Trek Voyager: Across the Unknown will emerge from a galaxy far, far away next month, from 18th February. Wrong series? Whatever.
You’ll be able to find out if this release has set its phasers to fun in a demo that’s available on the PS5 right now. According to the press release, it incorporates a ton of improvements expected in the full release.
Pre-orders are also available now for £34.99/$39.99, with a Deluxe Edition also available for £44.99/$49.99. The latter includes five additional missions, two new recruitable heroes, and three new technologies.

This is, in essence, a strategy game with roguelike elements, which takes the source material and puts you in charge of a number of “what if?” scenarios.
Here’s how the press release pitches it:
“Star Trek Voyager: Across the Unknown is a story-driven survival strategy game in which the fate of the iconic starship is in your hands. Take the helm, manage the ship and resources, and make difficult decisions. Will you be able to bring home the ship and its crew?”
You can check out a crash course on the combat gameplay in the video embedded above, but we’d probably recommend just downloading the demo so you can get a taste for the title first-hand.

I wish they would do a proper remake of the excellent Star Trek Invasion from way back in the PS1 era - still easily my favourite Star Trek game to date.
Maybe its just me, but despite being a Star Trek fan (particularly TNG), this game just doesn't grab my interest, though I may well check out the demo.
Avoid this game. If the demo is anything to go by, it is a buggy mess and riddled with bad grammar and punctuation.
Like Balan Wonderworld’s demo, this demo has saved me $40.
I really want it and really want to like it. Will try the demo and see but it feels like it's a sale game in a few months in the hope that issues are fixed.
Yeh that demo is a janky mess! Was pretty disappointed, but glad I saved myself money
It's kind of crazy we've never gotten a AAAA Star Trek game......
Wonder if it's too tricky to build a single player game around that universe?
