The early access, free-to-play revival of Skate has been met with a mixed reception so far, but it seems developer Full Circle is keen to turn things around with some significant updates in Season 2.

The major update to the sandbox skating sim starts on 2nd December, and you can get a rough idea of what to expect in this daft trailer:

Season 2 adds a whole bunch of new and improved features, including better replays, a new mode, new tricks, and more.

Here's a breakdown of the main attractions:

  • Own the Lot mode: This is a new co-op mode in which you and your fellow skaters must complete as many objectives as possible within the time limit. You'll all earn rewards based on how well you do.
  • Party voice chat: A much-requested feature is being implemented, allowing you to party up with others and engage in voice chat.
  • New tricks: The Season 2 update adds Impossibles and several variants to the trick pool. On top of that are improvements to handplants, increasing the number of handplant tricks from two to 16.
  • Improved replay editor: New options for the replay editor are being added. A new advanced editor mode lets you toy with enhanced trimming, keyframes, new framing options, and more.

On top of all that are some new options to tinker with, as well as the usual seasonal stuff — new areas to skate, challenges, cosmetics, events, and a fresh Skate Pass are all incoming.

You can learn a bit more about all the Season 2 goodies on the official website.
