BlazBlue Entropy Effect X is finally bringing Arc System Works' on-hiatus series back — but it's not a new fighting game.
Instead, this is a "roguelite action" title featuring 14 playable characters from the previous BlazBlue games.
The official description makes it sound like this'll be pretty in-depth affair, with systems like skill inheritance letting you build characters however you want. And that's on top of a hectic, combo-based combat system.
So Entropy Effect X isn't quite the BlazBlue revival we were personally hoping for, but it does look cool in this debut trailer. It slashes its way to PS5 on the 12th February, 2026.

It may only be BlazBlue adjacent, but it looks cool as heck.
I like BlazBlue (the plot skews a bit toward Kojima-level convoluted) but I suck at fighters, so I'm actually kinda intrigued by this.
Haven’t played Blazblue in years, almost forgot about it. But this game here looks really good.
One of the best games of the show imo
Do people not know this game has been on PC for almost 2 years now? I guess they're doing some new content and adding the 'X' to the name and make it seem like a new game?
@viccior Not everyone games on PC.
@ButterySmooth30FPS I know, and I wasn't trying to be negative, cause I love BlazBlue and I own a PS5. I just meant that a lot of outlets are basically talking about it like this is the first BlazBlue game since the 2D fighting ones and it takes 1 Google search to realise this is a port of an existing game with a story expansion.
You had me at “Cafe! Stop!”
This has been on pc for a bit. It’s pretty fun
Wish blazblue came back as an rpg with the story from the game and the books.
Looks fun. But i'm far behind when comes to BlazBlue story & lore. The last BlazBlue i played was Continuum Shift back in 2009.
@viccior Does it include the story and content from the original? Because I can't find that info. Everything points to it being a sequel, not an expanded rerelease. Kinda confused lol
@Issen_Mode From what I've read to me it looks like the PC game as a base for the gameplay/mechanics and then they're adding the story and new characters to release it as a completely new game. Weird thing is there's nothing about this version coming to PC (which will obviously happen), so there's lots of expeculation. Maybe they just update the current PC release? Who knows.
